DERİN KUYU POMPALARI (DEEPWELL PUMPS)
LPG tankerlerinde en çok kullanılan pompa türü deepwell pompalardır. Özellikle tam basınçlı ve yarı basınçlı gemilerde. Bu tarz pompaların hareketleri elektriksel veya hidrolik ile çalıştırılabilen bir motor ile sağlanabilmektedir.
Pompa içerisinde tank dibine kadar ulaşan uzun bir şaft sistemi ve shaft’da karbon yatak içerisinden geçerek hareket eder. Şaft’ın her hareketinde böylelikle yataklarda gereken soğuma ve yağlama gereksinimi sağlanır.
Pompa ucunda impeller’i bulunmakta ve bu impeller kısmı ise iki veya üç kademeden oluşabilmektedir. Bu sayede NPSH değeri azaltılır ve oluşabilecek kavitasyon engellenmektedir. Pompa sisteminde kaçak olmaması için iki aşamalı mekanik seal kullanılmaktadır.
Büyük tank büyüklüğüne sahip gaz tankerlerinde bu pompalar tercih edilmemektedir. Çünkü tank yüksekliği artmakta ve daha büyük şaft kullanımı gerekmektedir. Bu da pompanın verimliliğini azaltmakta ve aynı zamanda geminin ağır hava şartlarına girmesi durumunda şaft ve yataklarda hasar meydana gelmektedir.
DEEPWELL PUMPS
In Liquefied Gas Carriers deepwell pumps is the most popular and most using pumps. This type of cargo pump can be operated via electrically or hydraulically by mounted a motor. The shaft can be drive inside the bearing and when the pumps operated it will cooled and gearing the its bearings.
The impeller of deepwell pumps reach to bottom of a tank and it consist of two or third stage impeller. The first stage give rise to minimizing the net pressure suction head problems and by this way the problem of corrosion and cavitation could be prohibited. ın this type of pumps, two or third sage mechanical seal use by this way leakage can be prohibited. When the cargo tank dimensions increase, there need to use higher shaft. When using the higher shaft, the efficiency of deepwell pump is decreasing. Also when the vessel have experiencing the heavy weather conditions, shaft also could be damaged.
Another important point for pump is icing problem. When the vessel carrying cooled cargo and if there any water inside the cargo, icing will happen. This is also very important problem because pumps could not work or when it works it could damage to its shaft and impeller. To prohibit this problem methanol can be used and also we need to take advice of the cargo surveyor because methanol can also give damage to LPG cargoes. Hydrates can happen when carrying loading operations from ship to shore or vice versa.
